How to use your resume check

Paste your resume and, if available, the job description. Review missing information and unclear bullets first. Add relevant keywords only when they describe work you have actually done, then run another check to see how your edits changed the feedback.

Keep the final document readable. Greenhouse’s parsing documentation identifies image-only resumes, complex tables, columns, and contact details in headers or text boxes as possible sources of parsing problems. Is the resume checker free?

What does the ATS score measure?

It is HiredFast’s assessment of the resume text, including structure and content signals. With a job description, the checker also compares keyword coverage. It is not an employer’s ATS score, a hiring prediction, or a guarantee that a document will parse correctly.

Do I need to add a job description?

You can check the resume text on its own. Add the actual job description for more relevant keyword feedback. Include suggested skills only when your experience supports them.

Can it check my PDF layout?

The checker evaluates text. Inspect the exported PDF or Word document yourself for page breaks, columns, clipped text, and readable contact information. After uploading to an application, review any fields filled from your resume.

Will the checker rewrite my resume?
